I try to tackle the 'helping others' by asking myself, what can I do that will help, but not cause too much (if any) conflict with my own families needs. For example, if I am headed somewhere anyhow and I know others are headed the same direction, it won't cause any issues for me to offer to drive someone else, or add on another errand in the same area for someone else. BUT, there are times when I need a little bit of help also and I know I can then count on those same people to give me a hand when necessary.
There are so many every day things that can be done for others without causing too much of a strain on yourself. And as you pointed out, it sure is nice to have someone to help out when I need it.

I am interested in your thoughts on the 'increasing feminization'. As the mother of a boy, I'm consistently worried about how to guide and raise him. Am I creating too much of a sensitive soul? Am I ruining him? Or am I giving him permission to FEEL the feelings he already has. I've been told he needs to 'emotionally toughen up' and am not sure if that's true or just the statements of someone who wasn't raised with the ability to express his emotions. I've as a last resort liked things like sand clocks, lava lamps, and the like to type of rightful spend space staring at it as a formality of catharsis. wished i would have seenthis earlier. Speaking of noise, holy week was very noisey for me. I could not get my brain and more importantly wrapped around what i needed to preach on the sunrise service. so even for "pastors" noise is a major issue. Man the enemy is crafty. ;p
